A European feast of late romanticism!  Wagner’s famous Lohengrin prelude, depicting the Holy Grail, is coupled with two pillars of Finnish nationalism in Sibelius’ En Saga and Karelia Suite. Elgar’s poignant evocation of the British sea-scape completed the programme. The Pico Players was delighted to welcome the mezzo soprano Charlotte Stephenson as soloist.
